Student Financial Business Support Analyst

About the role

The Student Financial Business Support Analyst plays a critical role in managing campus‑wide student financial assistance programs, including awards and bursaries. Reporting to the Manager, Student Financial Support, the analyst ensures accurate assessment and disbursement of funds across UBC Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Endowment Management Policy, University Awards regulations, CRA guidelines and related financial policies.
• Lead the design, development, enhancement and implementation of processes and applications for awards and bursary programs.
• Gather and analyse high‑level requirements for complex system changes affecting the Student Information System.
• Create, monitor and report key performance indicators, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting timelines.
• Provide training, guidance and policy interpretation to faculties, departments and business units.

Required profile

• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and audit support within a higher‑education environment.
• Strong analytical abilities to evaluate cross‑functional procedures and ensure compliance with university and Canadian tax regulations.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage resources and meet timelines.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Student Information Systems and registrarial functions.
• Familiarity with Canadian government student financial assistance programs and related compliance requirements.
