Finance Manager

About the role

The Finance Manager is responsible for high‑level financial and budgetary analysis and reporting for the Vice‑President Finance & Operations (VPFO) portfolio, which includes facilities operations, financial services, budgeting, planning, safety and risk with a combined operating budget of over $240M annually.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial decision support, advice, tools and reports to directors and budget managers across the VPFO portfolio.
• Develop unit‑level budgets, financial models, sensitivity analyses and multi‑year forecasts.
• Assess existing financial systems, recommend and implement improvements, and support financial processes.
• Lead quarterly forecasts, annual budgeting, and preparation of 5‑year plans.
• Build and maintain financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives and new programs.
• Oversee preparation of quarterly variance reporting, KPI summaries, and manage day‑to‑day financial operations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data, assess risks and make sound recommendations.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills to collaborate with directors, managers and administrators.
• Capacity to manage changing priorities and multiple deadlines.
