Senior Accountant – Canada Tax

About the role

Bestax is seeking a Senior Accountant specialized in Canadian tax to support its international client base. You will handle corporate and personal tax filings, assist with GST/HST, and provide basic tax planning for a variety of businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns.
• Assist with GST/HST filings, payroll taxes, and other routine submissions.
• Support basic tax planning to help reduce tax liabilities.
• Stay updated with Canadian tax rules and regulations.
• Review financial data to ensure accurate tax calculations.
• Handle basic tax notices and communicate with authorities when needed.
• Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and CaseWare.
• Maintain bookkeeping records and prepare financial reports.
• Coordinate with the team to complete tasks on time.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4‑5 years of experience in Canadian taxation and accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA regulations, and compliance.
• Experience with T1, T2, GST/HST, and payroll tax filings.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
