Senior Accountant (9-month contract)

About the role

This 9‑month contract position offers an experienced accountant the opportunity to lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial reporting for a dynamic organization. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely delivery of financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform complex general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations.
• Review cash management entries, bank reconciliations and AP/AR transactions for accuracy.
• Maintain and reconcile prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, IFRS 16 lease, CAPEX and debt amortisation schedules.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and support external audit requirements.
• Prepare quarterly and annual government filings, including payroll remittances and regulatory reports.
• Support ERP enhancements, financial system implementations and process‑automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Post‑secondary education in finance or accounting; working towards CPA designation.
• Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
