Sr. Financial Analyst

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Financial Analyst to support financial planning, reporting, and analysis for a non‑profit organization in Toronto. The role transforms financial and operational data into clear insights that guide forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation of accurate monthly claims and periodic financial reports in compliance with complex funding agreements.
• Prepare reconciliations for wage subsidies, government grants, and other funding sources by region.
• Assist senior finance leaders in reviewing funding agreements, budgeting processes, and program analysis.
• Prepare budget submissions for contracts and regional child‑care funding.
• Manage month‑end closing procedures and reconcile accounts receivable, deferred revenues, and related general‑ledger accounts.
• Perform budget variance analysis and review monthly revenue drawdowns and allocation calculations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience.
• Working towards CPA designation is preferred.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience with a full understanding of the accounting cycle.
• Experience preparing reports for government funding is an asset.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
