Personal Support Worker (PSW)

About the role

RhynoCare is looking for an experienced Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate care in long‑term care facilities in St. Catharines, Ontario. You will be engaged as an Independent Contractor and work onsite with a focus on resident wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Observe, document, and promptly report changes in residents' physical, emotional or cognitive status to the primary nurse.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, and feeding while promoting dignity and independence.
• Support safe transfer, positioning, and mobility using proper techniques and equipment.
• Complete all documentation accurately and on time in accordance with corporate policies.
• Participate in risk management, quality improvement, mentoring, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures, including proper use of equipment and personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• At least 18 years of age with proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Ministry‑approved PSW training program (minimum 640 hours) or RN/RPN student with Year 1 experience.
• Experience working as a facility PSW is considered an asset.
• Ability to speak a second language is an asset.
