Family Practitioner / General Practitioner in Nelson

About the role

We are seeking a Family Physician to join a collaborative, flexible primary‑care practice in Nelson, British Columbia. The role blends rural family medicine with longitudinal primary care, shared inpatient duties, and a rotating Doctor‑of‑the‑Day hospital schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide longitudinal primary‑care to a shared patient panel with one other physician.
• Participate in shared inpatient coverage at Kootenay Lake Hospital (1–5 inpatient days per 12‑week rotation).
• Engage in Doctor‑of‑the‑Day responsibilities and cross‑coverage with colleagues.
• Optionally contribute to a functional‑medicine clinic up to twice weekly.

Required profile

• Certification (or eligibility) with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or equivalent.
• Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
• Willingness to participate in shared inpatient coverage rotations.

Required skills

• Clinical competence in family medicine.
• Ability to work in a team‑based, interdisciplinary environment.
