About the role
We are seeking a skilled Operations Officer II to support our client, a leading North American financial institution, in Toronto. The position is hybrid, with an initial on‑site training period.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine to broad tasks, follow established procedures, and investigate straightforward problems to implement suitable solutions.
- Complete investigations and report or escalate risk issues or process gaps.
- Conduct AML and Sanctions/ABAC information‑gathering activities in line with FCRM regulations.
- Support AML and Sanctions/ABAC related activities and transactions to resolve business issues.
- Review banking transactions to ensure compliance with bank and regulatory thresholds.
- Forward unusual transactions and supporting information for further review.
- Perform research activities and address research discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and support process‑improvement initiatives.
- Prioritize workload to meet SLA requirements for service and productivity.
- Support timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures.
- Escalate non‑standard or high‑risk activities as necessary.
- Ensure due diligence to support the accuracy of all transactions and activities.
- Follow internal and industry regulations when recording transactions.
- Prepare accurate documentation that reflects business intentions and relevant rules.
- Participate in process‑improvement opportunities and prepare procedural documents.
- Comply with the Bank Code of Conduct and act as a brand champion.
- Contribute to a fair, positive, and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.
Required profile
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet SLA requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and due‑diligence in transaction processing.
- Knowledge of AML, sanctions and ABAC regulations.
- Understanding of banking transaction thresholds and regulatory guidelines.
- Commitment to compliance with internal policies and the Bank Code of Conduct.
- Team‑oriented mindset and ability to support a positive, diverse work environment.
