Instructor – Banking Law (Fall 2026)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to join the Faculty of Law as an Instructor for the Banking Law course (BUS2 531) in the Fall 2026 term. The instructor will deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on loan and credit facility contracts, focusing on Canadian banking practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays (14:35–15:55) covering consumer and corporate credit agreements.
• Prepare and update course materials, case studies, and practical examples reflecting recent developments.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and class participation.
• Provide guidance and feedback to undergraduate law students in a bilingual environment.
• Collaborate with the Student Affairs Office regarding scheduling and any changes.

Required profile

• A first degree in law (LL.B. or J.D.) at minimum.
• Several years of substantive practice or professional experience in banking, credit, or related legal fields.
• Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate law students, preferably in a bilingual setting.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of Canadian banking law and credit facility contracts.
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
