Legal Director, Corporate and Regulatory

About the role

Leading the Corporate and Regulatory Legal Functions within Labatt’s Canadian legal team, this senior position acts as a trusted advisor to commercial leadership. The role ensures legal integrity while enabling business growth and protecting Labatt’s interests across a broad range of legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on corporate law matters including governance, finance, tax, M&A, joint ventures, IP, licensing and distribution agreements.
• Provide regulatory guidance on food law, competition, advertising and marketing compliance.
• Conduct legal research, policy analysis, risk assessments and monitor regulatory developments.
• Draft, negotiate and review commercial contracts and manage due‑diligence processes.
• Lead a team of lawyers and food scientists, hiring, mentoring and building talent.
• Oversee litigation and disputes in coordination with external counsel.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognized law school and member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
• At least seven years of progressive in‑house or law‑firm experience advising senior management.
• Current license to practice law in Ontario.
