Legal Assistant – Immigration

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Legal Assistant to join our immigration practice in Calgary. The position supports attorneys by managing correspondence, maintaining files, and handling a high‑volume caseload under tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the flow of information within the immigration team, ensuring timely distribution of documents.
• Open, sort and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other materials.
• Schedule and confirm client appointments and court dates.
• Maintain an organized filing system and establish office procedures and routines.
• Prepare, type and proofread correspondence and legal documents for accuracy and compliance.

Required profile

• College‑level certificate or diploma (1‑2 years) related to legal studies.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in immigration law support.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and client‑focused mindset.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to multitask.
