Cook – Indian Cuisine

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Cook to join our team at Pawan's Indian Kitchen in North Vancouver. The role involves preparing authentic East Indian dishes in a fast‑paced restaurant environment while ensuring high standards of food quality and safety. This is a full‑time, permanent position with flexible shift options.

Key responsibilities

• Determine portion sizes and calculate food costs for menu items.
• Requisition and receive food and kitchen supplies.
• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, including options for customers with allergies or intolerances.
• Inspect kitchen and service areas to maintain cleanliness and compliance with health regulations.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
• Order supplies and equipment, maintain inventory records, and manage kitchen operations.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school diploma) or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience working in a restaurant kitchen.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment, standing for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and good communication skills.
• Team player with good time‑management and judgment.
