About the role
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba is seeking two Complaint Investigators to join its Complaints and Investigation Department. Reporting to the department, the investigators will assess and resolve complaints against registrants, prepare detailed reports, and support the Investigation Committee.
Key responsibilities
- Review complaints for jurisdictional and privacy issues and identify matters needing legal advice.
- Communicate with complainants and registrants, ensuring letters clearly outline concerns and process limitations.
- Investigate complaints by reviewing medical records, interviewing parties, and gathering third‑party information.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to address legal and procedural considerations.
- Prepare comprehensive Investigator’s Reports and attend Committee meetings to provide clarification.
Required profile
- Regulated Health Professional with a minimum of 8 years clinical experience (or equivalent education and experience).
- Experience reading and interpreting legislation, standards, and protocols; full training on investigations will be provided.
Required skills
- Proficiency with computers, including digital document management.
- Office 365 and basic keyboarding skills.
- Strong report‑writing ability for multidisciplinary audiences.
