Laboratory Analyst 1 – HRMS Sample Preparation

About the role

The Laboratory Analyst 1 supports high‑resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) operations by preparing samples, conducting analyses, and ensuring quality compliance in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review LIMS reports to prioritize daily work and manage sample queues.
• Perform sample preparation and pre‑analysis procedures following SOPs and ISO‑17025 standards.
• Conduct basic HRMS analyses, identify non‑routine samples and escalate when needed.
• Maintain laboratory instruments, prepare standards and reagents, and monitor supply levels.
• Document deviations, support corrective actions, and participate in internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education or equivalent laboratory experience.
• Proven experience as a Laboratory Technician with strong record‑keeping and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑moving setting.

Required skills

• High‑Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) analysis.
• LIMS operation and reporting.
• PC/Mac computer proficiency.
• Use of pipettes, thermal cyclers, automated sequencers, and liquid handling instruments.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory standards and hazardous material handling.
