Community Health Representative – Full‑time Permanent

About the role

The Tsartlip First Nation is seeking a dedicated Community Health Representative to promote health‑related activities, workshops, and programs for community members. This permanent, full‑time position is unionized and focuses on improving access to health services and supporting healthy lifestyles.

Key responsibilities

• Research and prepare funding proposals, manage program budgets, and submit required reports.
• Promote and coordinate health services, workshops, and information sessions for members.
• Assist members in accessing health resources, making referrals, and resolving benefits questions.
• Liaise with health care providers such as nurses, doctors, psychiatrists, dentists, and mental health specialists.
• Provide health outreach support, including delivering supplies to patients unable to travel.
• Arrange safe transportation for medical appointments and coordinate related logistics (hotel bookings, mileage, meals).
• Facilitate cultural and traditional activities that support community health.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to Indigenous health and community well‑being.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with members, staff, and external partners.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record for transportation duties.
