Adjunct Faculty – Focus Week Workshop: Anatomy of a Deal

About the role

The Faculty of Law seeks an experienced legal professional to teach a Focus Week workshop titled "Anatomy of a Deal" during Fall 2026. This short‑term teaching assignment will run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, guiding students through the full lifecycle of a merger and acquisition transaction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures covering strategic, financing, valuation, and tax aspects of M&A transactions.
• Lead practical simulations of negotiations and draft or analyse key provisions of transaction agreements.
• Integrate project‑management principles and AI/technology tools into the due‑diligence process.
• Assess student performance and provide feedback on case studies and simulations.

Required profile

• First degree in law (LL.B. or J.D.).
• Several years of significant practice or professional experience in M&A, corporate law, or related fields.
• Prior experience teaching undergraduate law students in a bilingual (English/French) environment.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of M&A transaction structures, valuation methods, and tax considerations.
• Proficiency in applying project‑management techniques to legal matters.
• Familiarity with AI and technology tools used in due‑diligence and contract analysis.
