About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will provide overall financial leadership for Alta Planning + Design, acting as a strategic partner to the President and senior leadership team. This senior role is responsible for the integrity of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial controls while driving business performance and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the President and leadership team.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Develop and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
• Drive visibility into project profitability, utilization, and overall financial performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, resource utilization, and profitability.
• Support strategic growth initiatives and long‑range business planning.
• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring strong financial controls.

Required profile

• Strong financial acumen combined with a commercial mindset.
• Ability to influence, challenge, and support operational leaders collaboratively.
• Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
• Experience in senior finance leadership within a professional services or design environment.
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and profitability.
