Junior Accountant – 12‑month contract

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Junior Accountant to support its Finance team in Toronto. This 12‑month contract position involves accurate processing of financial transactions, from purchase orders to supplier invoices and employee expense claims.

Key responsibilities

• Create and process Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in line with company procedures.
• Process supplier invoices, credit notes and employee expense claims, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
• Prepare and execute electronic bank payments, administer corporate bank accounts and maintain authorized signatories.
• Validate supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy and policy compliance.
• Liaise with employees, suppliers and project teams to resolve PO, invoice, payment and expense queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support month‑end / year‑end close activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare and file GST/HST returns and assist with other statutory filings.

Required profile

• High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow company policies, Delegation of Authority and financial controls.
• Effective communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
