Staff Accountant – Toronto

About the role

Our Toronto office is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the forensic accounting team at MDD. The role supports the accounting function, providing analysis, inventory observation, and client interaction for economic damage quantification projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data.
• Observe physical inventory and conduct price testing.
• Examine source documents relevant to engagements and check proof reports and schedules.
• Conduct phone, video or in‑person interviews to gather information.
• Research, analyse and evaluate data, including invoice analysis.
• Attend marketing events and client functions as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Entry‑level accounting experience.
• Actively pursuing CPA designation.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel internationally.
• Professional demeanor and positive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
