Arena Operator - Graveyard Shift

About the role

We are looking for a mechanically‑inclined individual with a passion for hockey to join our team as an Arena Operator on the graveyard shift. You will be responsible for keeping Planet Ice’s Coquitlam facility running smoothly throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service the arena’s refrigeration plant and related mechanical systems.
• Perform routine building maintenance and address any mechanical issues promptly.
• Operate the Zamboni to ensure a high‑quality ice surface for games and events.
• Monitor facility systems to guarantee peak efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with the night‑shift team to deliver reliable arena operations.

Required profile

• Current Ice Facility Operator (IFO) or Refrigeration Operator (RO) certification, or a 4th/5th class Power Engineer licence.
• Demonstrated experience working in a hockey arena or similar facility, or strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to be trained.
• Self‑sufficient, dependable, and able to work independently during overnight hours.

Required skills

• Ice Facility Operator certification (IFO) or Refrigeration Operator certification (RO).
• 4th or 5th class Power Engineer certification.
• Zamboni operation.
• Refrigeration plant maintenance.
• General mechanical troubleshooting.
