About the role
MP Kibble is seeking a full‑time Communications Assistant to support the Member of Parliament’s Ottawa office. This fast‑paced position blends political insight with creative content production to engage constituents and stakeholders across multiple platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the MP’s Ottawa calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements.
- Create, publish, and monitor social‑media content, ensuring alignment with the MP’s brand.
- Produce photo, video, and graphic assets; design visuals for digital, print, and social channels.
- Monitor news and social feeds to identify emerging issues and draft timely responses.
- Assess reputational and political risks, and develop appropriate messaging.
- Ensure all communications comply with House of Commons guidelines and coordinate approval processes.
Required profile
- Post‑secondary education in communications, journalism, business administration or a related field.
- 1‑3 years of experience in communications, media, journalism, or a parliamentary setting.
- Strong writing and editing abilities with sound political judgment.
- Experience volunteering or working for a political organization is preferred.
