About the role
The Associate Director, Faculty of Medicine, leads a major‑gift development program for the University of British Columbia. This senior fundraising role focuses on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding high‑value donors to support the Faculty of Medicine.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of 75‑150 major‑gift prospects, generating at least $1 M in annual contributions.
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.
- Collaborate with senior university leaders, including the VP of Development, the President, and the Dean’s office, to align fundraising initiatives with institutional priorities.
- Oversee creation of donor recognition, acknowledgement, and stewardship programs.
- Prepare solicitation materials, correspondence, and reports for donors and internal stakeholders.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing major‑gift fundraising programs with annual revenues of $1 M +.
- Strong ability to build relationships with senior donors, community leaders, and university officials.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and mentor junior development staff.
