About the role
The Associate Director, Faculty of Medicine leads major‑gift fundraising initiatives for the university. Reporting to senior development leadership, this role manages a portfolio of high‑potential donors and drives strategic resource development to support the Faculty’s mission.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward 75‑150 major‑gift prospects, targeting an annual revenue of at least $1 million.
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising plans aligned with university priorities.
- Manage a development program with an average budget of $1.5 million, overseeing solicitation activities and donor recognition programs.
- Collaborate with senior university leaders, including the VP of Development, the President, and faculty administrators, to secure private and public sector support.
- Oversee creation of solicitation materials, correspondence, and stewardship communications.
- Perform administrative duties related to donor management and reporting.
Required profile
- Proven experience in major‑gift fundraising within higher education or a comparable sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large donor portfolio and achieve multi‑million dollar fundraising goals.
- Strong understanding of university development processes and donor stewardship best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with senior leaders, donors, and community partners.
