Wet Assay Laboratory Technician

About the role

Reporting to the Wet Assay Manager, the Wet Assay – Laboratory Technician performs routine and non‑routine duties in the Wet Assay Lab, including sample analysis using established analytical techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately conduct routine and non‑routine analyses of samples using the appropriate method or instrument according to schedule.
• Prepare chemical reagents and calibration standards, handle chemicals per Safety Data Sheets, and maintain instrument maintenance (AAS, auto‑titrator, pH/conductivity meter, UV‑vis spectrometer, pycnometer).
• Meet client quality and turnaround‑time specifications, ensure samples are analyzed within holding time, and compile analytical records.
• Perform chemical inventory counts, clean‑up duties, and participate in department meetings and audits.

Required profile

• BSc in Chemistry, Technical Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced lab environment, stand for long periods, lift up to 10 kg, and follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS).
• Use of auto‑titrator, pH and conductivity meters.
• UV‑vis Spectrometer proficiency.
• Pycnometer operation.
