Tax Specialist – Family Office (Toronto)

About the role

This full‑time, onsite position sits within a Family Office and provides high‑quality tax support for high‑net‑worth individuals and their entities. You will work closely with the CFO and external advisors across multiple jurisdictions, handling both routine compliance and complex planning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage external tax advisors in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accurate, timely, and cost‑effective delivery.
• Support tax planning and execution of repatriation strategies, identifying withholding and exposure risks.
• Partner with the CFO on Canadian and cross‑border tax planning (inbound and outbound).
• Assist with special transactions such as M&A, restructurings, and estate planning.
• Review accounting records and financial reports for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Coordinate global tax compliance filings (Canada, US, and other jurisdictions).
• Manage correspondence with tax authorities, including audits and reconciliations.
• Oversee tax compliance processes to consistently meet deadlines.
• Monitor tax developments relevant to high‑net‑worth individuals and private corporations.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting or industry.
• Solid Canadian tax knowledge; US tax exposure is an advantage.
• Experience advising individuals and corporations on income tax matters.
