Tax Manager

About the role

As a Tax Manager within RBC Taxation, you will join a forward‑thinking, technology‑enabled team that handles Canadian tax compliance and reporting for both domestic and international operations. You will support the delivery of tax advisory and planning services across the RBC group while continuously improving processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly income and capital tax provisions and quarterly tax note reporting for assigned subsidiaries.
• Manage the preparation of income and capital tax returns for assigned entities and assist with Canadian international tax compliance, including surplus calculations and T106/T1134 filings.
• Ensure reconciliations of tax accounts meet RBC audit standards and documentation requirements.
• Oversee timely preparation and payment of income tax and capital tax instalments for assigned entities.
• Support business partners and tax team members with value‑added tax advice.
• Research and respond to CRA audit queries.
• Monitor Canadian tax legislative changes, communicate impacts, and recommend strategies to senior tax leadership.
• Identify and implement process improvements using the latest technology and best practices.

Required profile

• CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation.
• Minimum three years of full‑time Canadian tax experience in a large corporation or major accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of financial and tax accounting principles.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to meet multiple deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Performance‑driven mindset focused on continuous process improvement.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel skills, including look‑ups, pivot tables, and related functions.
