Collections Specialist

About the role

Onyx Fire Protection Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join its finance team in Mississauga. This full‑time position focuses on securing payments, resolving discrepancies, and supporting cash‑flow objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Make collection calls and send correspondence in a fast‑paced, goal‑oriented environment.
• Contact clients to secure payment on overdue invoices and investigate payment discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, to resolve outstanding issues and provide exceptional customer service.
• Manage a computerized accounts receivable system, maintaining records, reports, and filing systems.
• Execute collection strategies to improve period‑end cash flow and key performance indicators.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts receivable and collections.
• Proven ability to develop and implement process improvements that reduce collection cycles.
• Strong leadership abilities (asset) and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel
• Financial software (experience with accounts receivable platforms)
• Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central) – preferred
