Tax Accountant (Indirect Tax)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Tax Accountant to join our Brampton office. The role focuses on indirect tax compliance, supporting our logistics operations across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file accurate HST/GST returns in all applicable jurisdictions.
• Reconcile tax reports and general‑ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies with Finance and Accounts Payable.
• Support tax audits, respond to CRA notices, and provide required documentation.
• Maintain and update tax rates, codes, and rules.
• Monitor changes in indirect‑tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
• Assist with indirect‑tax planning, compliance strategies, and process automation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on new initiatives, product rollouts, and system implementations to ensure proper tax treatment.
• Document processes and keep indirect‑tax policies and procedures up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CPA or tax certification preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in indirect‑tax compliance, preferably in a multi‑jurisdictional environment.
• Strong understanding of indirect‑tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
