Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. The position is remote, with travel to project sites where you will receive on‑the‑job training on specialized mud‑system equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in rigging up and rigging down solids control equipment on site.
• Operate shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units, pumps and related machinery.
• Perform drilling fluid analysis, including weight, viscosity and retort testing.
• Execute solids control services such as air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, fluid transfers and cuttings drying.
• Carry out routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing tools.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete required PJRA/JSA, inspection and observation reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑days‑on/7‑days‑off rotational schedule.
• Ability to travel domestically to remote locations throughout Canada.
• Readiness to learn and shadow experienced technicians and field leaders.
• Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of PPE.
