Senior Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead and oversee the Canadian tax function for a tier‑1 captive finance business in the automotive sector. The role offers a hybrid work environment, competitive compensation and the chance to work with experienced leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly Canadian income tax provision computations, reconciliations and deferred tax analysis.
• Monitor new general‑ledger accounts and document appropriate book‑and‑tax treatment.
• Analyze tax treatment for financial‑statement, statutory and internal management reporting.
• Manage domestic and provincial income and indirect tax examinations, including responding to Information Document Requests.
• Develop tax research and special projects to lower the effective tax rate and optimise cash tax flow.
• Oversee indirect tax compliance, withholding tax returns and annual statistics reporting.
• First‑level review of monthly tax calculations and filing of federal and provincial indirect tax returns.
• Lead tax audits, coordinate with external advisors and document tax due diligence.
• Assist in transfer‑pricing methodology, intercompany service agreements and intra‑group transaction oversight.

Required profile

• CPA designation, MTax or CPA In‑Depth Tax Program (Levels 1‑3) completed.
• Minimum 6 + years of Canadian corporate tax experience.
• Strong proficiency in direct tax compliance and planning.
• Proven experience at an Experienced Manager or Senior Manager level.
