Senior Project Manager – Financial Services (Hybrid, Waterloo)

About the role

Our client, a leading North American financial institution, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee a multi‑workstream program supporting technology, operations, communications and vendor delivery. The role is based in Waterloo, ON and operates on a hybrid schedule, offering the chance to work closely with internal stakeholders and an external vendor (Xodus) on a high‑visibility transformation initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily coordination of technology, operations, communications and vendor delivery workstreams.
• Manage and track an integrated program delivery plan, including milestones, dependencies and risk/issue registers.
• Serve as the primary interface with vendor Xodus, ensuring accountability and performance.
• Facilitate governance processes such as status reporting, escalation management and executive updates.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment across internal teams and vendor partners.
• Oversee operational readiness activities, including SOP development, training and go‑live planning.
• Prepare executive‑level dashboards, decision materials and go/no‑go readiness assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering or a related field.
• 9+ years of project or program management experience, preferably in financial services, insurance or claims operations.
• Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end multi‑workstream programs.
• Strong vendor management background, especially within vendor‑led delivery models.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, shifting priorities and complex environments.
• Consulting experience (Big 4 or similar) or large‑scale transformation exposure is a plus.
