Claims Specialist – Accident Benefits

About the role

Zurich Canada is seeking a Claims Specialist to handle Accident Benefits claims for commercial and personal lines. The role is based in Waterloo with a hybrid work model and will support clients through the end‑to‑end claims process while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Handle Accident Benefits claims up to non‑catastrophic limits, including minor to moderate loss transfer claims.
• Serve as primary contact for injured claimants, providing empathetic guidance and coordinating with medical partners.
• Determine liability, verify policy coverage, and develop case strategies to achieve timely resolution.
• Establish reserves, assess damages, and negotiate settlements within authority limits.
• Document claim files accurately and maintain quality standards throughout the claims cycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of claims or insurance experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licence(s).
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
