Senior Process Engineer

About the role

The Senior Process Engineer will lead water‑related process studies, design, simulations and commissioning for Enerflex's Water Solutions business in Calgary. This role supports client projects from feasibility through start‑up and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical proposals, RFQs, feasibility studies, conceptual designs and detailed process studies for produced‑water treatment packages.
• Perform simulation studies using HYSYS and Flow Simulation software, prepare PFDs, material balances, P&IDs and design calculations such as line and equipment sizing, pump hydraulics and gas consumption.
• Represent Enerflex at design reviews, HAZOP and SIL meetings, and provide field support during commissioning and start‑up.
• Collaborate with static, instrumentation, electrical, rotary and QA teams to ensure technically accurate deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA.
• 12+ years of progressive process engineering experience in oil & gas or water‑treatment, with hands‑on involvement in produced‑water systems.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, and willingness to travel internationally.

Required skills

• HYSYS and Flow Simulation software for process modeling.
• CFD concepts and two‑phase/three‑phase separation studies.
• Preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, material balances and design calculations (line sizing, equipment sizing, pump hydraulics).
• Microsoft Office Suite and standard engineering documentation tools.
