Senior GL Accountant (Toronto)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team in Toronto. The role focuses on commercial property accounting, month‑end close, and financial reporting while supporting audit and compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Answer accounting queries and prepare reports for commercial properties.
• Produce income statements, balance sheets, and other financial statements.
• Perform variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting and make recommendations on cash reserves, assets and expenditures.
• Maintain, record and reconcile billings and accounts receivable.
• Create month‑end entries, calculate recoveries and management fees.
• Prepare balance‑sheet and bank reconciliations, including SOX‑related work.
• Support tenant billing, year‑end reconciliations and monthly HST reporting.
• Participate in audits of financial and CAM statements.
• Follow standardized procedures to meet tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent experience).
• Up to 3 years of relevant accounting experience; CPA enrollment is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
