Senior Front-End Software Developer

About the role

The client is looking for a Senior Front-End Software Developer to lead the design, development, and enhancement of a central Special Events web application used by city divisions for permit processing, safety submissions, and information sharing.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement modern SPA components using React and related technologies.
• Create and maintain technical specifications, architecture, and integration documentation.
• Develop and integrate multiple sub‑forms supporting event permits and safety submissions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to functionality, data integrity, system integrations, and user access.
• Collaborate with parallel development teams to ensure seamless integration across solution components.
• Participate in planning, estimation, and delivery of development activities.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility, privacy, security, and operational standards.

Required profile

• 10+ years of front‑end development experience building SPAs with React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, jQuery, Backbone.js, and Stencil.js.
• 10+ years of accessibility expertise (WCAG 2.x AA, AODA, WAI‑ARIA).
• 10+ years of authentication and security experience (OpenID Connect, PKCE, Authorization Code Flow).
• Strong background in application architecture, system integration, technical documentation, risk assessment, and QA/UAT support.
• Proven technical leadership, independent work style, and experience on large‑scale enterprise applications.
• Post‑secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
