Senior Financial Analyst – Faculty of Medicine

About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst provides strategic financial support to the Faculty of Medicine, establishing policies and processes for planning, budgeting, and reporting. The role works closely with finance managers and analysts across multiple units to ensure sound financial operations and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the annual budget, forecasts, and five‑year financial plans for the Faculty of Medicine.
• Coordinate consolidated financial reporting for multiple units and provide strategic guidance to unit finance managers.
• Evaluate, manage, and report on budget variances, creating recovery plans for unfavorable outcomes.
• Design and enhance reporting tools and processes using Excel, FMS, Workday, Adaptive Planning and Integrated Reporting.
• Lead financial modeling, what‑if scenarios, and sensitivity analyses to support strategic initiatives.
• Provide professional financial advice on revenue generation, costings for new hires, projects, and programs.
• Develop performance measures and conduct cost‑benefit and risk analyses for new initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Dean’s office) and external partners such as health authorities and foundations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting within a large organization.
• Expertise in corporate finance systems and strong analytical capabilities.
• Ability to develop and deliver budgeting tools, models, and guidelines.
• Proven track record of providing strategic financial support and advice to senior leadership.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
