Senior Director, Corporate & Business Development

About the role

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. is seeking a Senior Director to lead its corporate and business development agenda. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, this leader will act as a trusted advisor to executive management, shaping strategy, evaluating transactions, and driving growth initiatives across the utility portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine enterprise strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
• Conduct market, competitive, and strategic analyses to identify growth opportunities.
• Lead due‑diligence, valuation, and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
• Manage cross‑functional teams through negotiation, regulatory filing, integration planning, and synergy realization.
• Create strategic roadmaps, performance metrics, and business cases to monitor execution and deliver shareholder value.

Required profile

• Proven experience in corporate strategy, business development, or M&A within the utility or energy sector.
• Strong analytical rigor and ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills with senior executives and board members.
• Track record of leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives to successful outcomes.
