Senior Claims Specialist – Liability

About the role

Zurich Canada is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist, Liability to manage commercial liability claims of low to moderate exposure. You will work under the Senior Claims Manager, following established protocols to ensure efficient, customer‑centric claim handling.

Key responsibilities

• Document and update claim files, ensuring compliance with best practices.
• Determine liability, coverage, and policy verification using applicable law and policy terms.
• Develop case strategies, set reserves, and conduct ongoing claim reviews within authority limits.
• Negotiate settlements, manage expenses, and refer potential subrogation or fraud cases.
• Maintain customer service standards and contribute risk insights to support profitable growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of claims/insurance experience, or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
