Senior Bookkeeper - QuickBooks Online

About the role

A growing Canada-based accounting and business services team is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented and proactive Senior Bookkeeper to work remotely. The role covers full-cycle bookkeeping for several clients, keeping financial records accurate and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. It is part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM PST.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple client accounts, keeping records accurate and up to date
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Categorize and record transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Maintain accounts payable and receivable records and monitor balances
• Prepare and record payroll entries
• Prepare GST/HST remittance information and supporting documentation
• Prepare financial reports and keep organized client files with tracked deadlines
• Help develop and document internal systems and processes, and communicate proactively with the team

Required profile

• Proven experience doing full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
• Familiarity with Canadian bookkeeping practices, including GST/HST remittances
• Strong attention to detail, organization and time management, able to handle several client files at once
• English communication skills and ability to work independently
