Business Controller - Crane Service

About the role

Konecranes is hiring a Business Controller for its Crane Service in Burlington, Ontario. The controller is responsible for the accounting and financial functions of the assigned area and supervises and mentors more junior members of the accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, reports and audits that give management information on financial transactions, operational costs, inventories, sales, orders, taxes, depreciation and asset values.
• Prepare consolidated operating statements and evaluate the company's financial position; prepare recommendations on future financial plans, objectives, policies and goals.
• Evaluate and implement approved programs that reduce costs, improve controls, simplify work and make better use of equipment.
• Advise management on the business and economic implications of financial data and on procedures, projects, employee relations and salaries.
• Prepare operating budgets and controls, and administer approved programs.
• Manage working capital and support customer collection efforts.

Required profile

• Eight or more years of progressive experience in preparatory accounting, financial analysis and/or Controller positions in a service environment.
• Degree in Accounting or Business Administration; a CPA designation is an asset.
• Expected travel of 5% to 10%.

Required skills

• SAP, Siebel or a large ERP system strongly preferred.
