Senior Associate, Capital Markets Accounting Advisory (Bilingual FR/EN)

About the role

PwC's Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services team (CMAAS) supports clients through accounting advice on acquisitions and divestitures, accounting changes, restructuring and capital transactions such as IPOs, and digital transformation projects. As a bilingual (French/English) Senior Associate in Montreal, you will handle complex financial reporting issues around transactions and transformational events, working closely with senior management, bankers, lawyers and other advisers. The role is newly created.

Key responsibilities

• Support capital market transactions including IPO readiness and BAR reports and pro forma financial statements
• Support accounting change projects such as GAAP conversions, accounting policy changes and new accounting standards
• Provide accounting implications for deal teams (buy-side, sell-side, valuations, business combinations, consolidations, divestitures)
• Prepare complex accounting calculations, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reporting
• Research technical accounting matters and prepare accounting whitepapers and diagnostic reports
• Respond promptly to ad hoc client requests, assist in project management and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues

Required profile

• Fluency in English and French
• Experience in financial accounting and reporting, a deals environment or public company audits
• Qualified Canadian CPA or equivalent reciprocal designation
• Ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced project environment, including overtime when client deadlines are tight

Required skills

• Ideal: strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and an aptitude for technology and innovation are an asset
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

The salary range is $58,400 - $97,500, with possible variable incentive pay for eligible employees. The role is based in Montreal and does not require work visa sponsorship.
