Senior Accountant – Remote (3-Month Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join a $4 M revenue organization on a three‑month remote assignment, with the possibility of extension or conversion. The role will own the full accounting cycle, maintain internal controls and provide analytical support to drive stability and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing, preparing journal entries, prepaids, accruals, fixed‑asset schedules and working papers.
• Manage payroll for ~20 staff members using QuickBooks Online and support any future payroll system transitions.
• Prepare corporate tax compliance filings and regular tax remittances.
• Assemble audit schedules and supporting documentation for the annual external audit.
• Oversee intercompany accounting (8‑10 transactions per year) and process 70‑80 total monthly transactions.
• Assist in budget development and business‑plan preparation, supporting future FP&A initiatives.
• Perform routine reconciliations to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity within QuickBooks.

Required profile

• CPA designation preferred; CPA candidates will also be considered.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience with full‑cycle reporting performed independently.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) is a distinct advantage.
• Hands‑on experience managing payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including Power Query, Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP.
