Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting (14‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead financial reporting for multiple divisions, working under both IFRS and US GAAP. This 14‑month contract role supports the corporate accounting team in a banking, investment or insurance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review accounting entries, journal entries and reconciliations across various divisions.
• Calculate and post monthly accruals accurately in accrual systems and integrate them into the General Ledger.
• Investigate and explain unexpected variances in operational accounting results, providing analytical commentary.
• Produce quarterly balance‑sheet and income‑statement analytics and ensure timely financial submissions to corporate accounting.
• Analyze actual financial results against plans and prior periods, delivering commentary.
• Develop and prepare management reports and assist with quarterly/annual statutory reporting.

Required profile

• Professional accounting designation (CPA) or near completion.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience with solid exposure to financial reporting and analysis.
• Experience in banking, investment or insurance industry.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Microsoft Access.
• Good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
