About the role
Bureau Veritas Canada is seeking Sample Preparation Technicians in Timmins for a 6‑month contract. The role involves preparing geological samples for analysis under the guidance of the Sample Prep Manager and Supervisor.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare geological samples by crushing, pulverizing or sieving according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure fast and accurate processing of incoming samples in priority sequence.
- Perform and document quality checks during sample preparation and halt production if non‑compliant.
- Operate and clean equipment, notifying the Lead‑Hand or Supervisor when maintenance is required.
- Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV policies, ISO standards and relevant procedures.
- Provide feedback for possible improvements in work processes.
Required profile
- Completion of high school.
- Experience using heavy equipment (asset).
- Excellent verbal and written English.
- Strong organizing, time‑management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required skills
- Sample crushing.
- Pulverizing of geological material.
- Sieving of samples.
- Operating and cleaning sample preparation equipment.
