Research Assistant – Reinterpreting Christopher Tunnard Project

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a non‑union research assistant to support the "Reinterpreting Christopher Tunnard" landscape architecture project. Working under the guidance of Professor Susan Herrington, you will contribute to scholarly research that examines Tunnard’s influence in the 1930s.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct basic literature searches using online databases and library resources.
• Perform archival research both online and on‑site, documenting findings with notes and photographs.
• Assist in compiling and organizing research materials for publication.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to project timelines.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and willingness to respect diverse perspectives.
• Ability to work under general supervision and follow detailed instructions.

Required skills

• Basic literature research techniques.
• Archival research methods, including note‑taking and photography.
