Child Care Worker Assistant

About the role

The Child Care Worker Assistant supports early childhood educators in a daycare centre, helping to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. This role involves direct interaction with children, families, and staff to promote holistic development.

Key responsibilities

• Assess children's development and create individualized learning plans.
• Assist early childhood educators with daily programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional and social growth.
• Lead storytelling, songs and craft activities, and organize outings to local points of interest.
• Prepare snacks, set up rooms for meals and rest, and help children develop proper eating, dressing and toileting habits.
• Observe and document signs of learning or behavioural issues, and communicate observations to parents and supervisors.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience working with children, including those with special needs such as intellectual disabilities, ADHD or behavioural challenges.
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Strong interpersonal skills, punctuality, reliability and the ability to multitask in a team environment.
