Research Assistant in Sleep Disorders Research

About the role

The University of British Columbia Sleep Disorders Clinic is seeking a Research Assistant to support observational studies, clinical trials, and advanced data analysis of sleep disorders. You will work under the direct supervision of the Research Manager and the Principal Investigator.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and enter research data into databases following study protocols.
• Assist in compiling, reconciling, and summarizing statistical and omics data using R.
• Support data analysis of high‑throughput omics and physiological sleep signal processing.
• Maintain study records, inventory, and prepare expense documentation.
• Adhere to tight timelines, report issues to the research manager, and perform other research support tasks as needed.

Required profile

• High school graduation with at least two years of related experience or equivalent education.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R for data analysis.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB for signal processing.
• Ability to work with complex datasets, including omics data.
