Registered Nurse – Health Links Telephone Triage

About the role

The Health Links – Info Santé team provides a 24/7 telephone health information and referral service for the Winnipeg Health Region. As a Nurse 2 you will use your clinical expertise to assess callers, deliver accurate health information, and guide them to appropriate care.

Key responsibilities

• Answer calls from the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Conduct professional assessments using approved protocols and the nursing process.
• Provide health‑related information, assist decision‑making, and determine urgency of care.
• Identify resources, make referrals, and arrange follow‑up as needed.
• Document caller demographics and encounter details in the electronic health record.
• Promote client empowerment, health education, and health‑promotion principles.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in an Emergency Department or Community Health setting.
• RN degree from an approved program and active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
• Current BLS certification (recommended).
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.
• Advanced triage or assessment skills and strong communication abilities.
• Ability to establish rapport quickly, maintain boundaries, and demonstrate a non‑judgmental, caring attitude.

Required skills

• Basic keyboard skills.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
