Registered Nurse – Health Contact Centre (Winnipeg)

About the role

The Provincial Health Contact Centre seeks a Registered Nurse to provide 24/7 clinical assessments and support to callers across Manitoba. You will triage health concerns, guide callers toward appropriate care levels, and facilitate referrals to home‑care services.

Key responsibilities

• Answer calls around the clock, assess health needs, and deliver evidence‑based advice using approved protocols.
• Document caller demographics and encounter details in the electronic health record.
• Process new home‑care program referrals from physicians, walk‑in clinics, hospitals and out‑of‑province sources.
• Provide after‑hours problem‑solving assistance to home‑care nurses.
• Maintain client empowerment and health‑promotion principles throughout interactions.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of recent clinical experience in a community or home‑care setting.
• Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program and active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
• Current CPR certification per employer policy.
• Fluency in English; French language ability is an asset.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and triage skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Computer literacy for documentation and protocol navigation.
• Ability to work within protocol‑driven environments.
