Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Toronto)

About the role
The University Health Network (UHN) is seeking Registered Nurses to join the Emergency Department at Toronto Western Hospital. This permanent, full‑time position offers the opportunity to work in a high‑acuity, 65‑bed emergency setting, including the new Senior Emergency Medicine Centre opening in November 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care to a diverse patient population in the Emergency Department.
- Apply critical thinking and clinical decision‑making to manage acute, sub‑acute, and fast‑track cases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, EMS personnel, and community services to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Document care accurately in accordance with UHN’s Professional Practice Model and regulatory standards.
- Participate in the Emergency Nursing Certificate program sponsored by UHN.
Required profile
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Ontario.
- Willingness to work rotating day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts (07:30‑19:30 / 19:30‑07:30).
- Strong commitment to professional development, including completion of the accredited Emergency Nursing Program.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
